OpenTable Helps 1 Million Diners Find a Table

November 7, 2009

OpenTable, a company we profiled back in September , has now seated over diners using their mobile app.  With a $50 average check per diner, this equates to more than $50 million in revenue generated for its restaurant partners. OpenTable ’s application comes in Android,  , Palm and BlackBerry flavors and allows diners to find and book reservations at more than 11,000 different restaurants around the world.   Using the app, diners can view a list of open tables at nearby restaurants and even make reservations right from their phones. This is an important milestone for OpenTable because we are now seeing mobile reservations translate into meaningful revenue for our restaurant partners.  Because our mobile apps interact directly with the OpenTable Electronic Reservation Book at the restaurant’s host stand, we are uniquely positioned to provide smartphone users with the ability to find and book real-time reservations and the confidence that the restaurant will be expecting them when they arrive. -  Jeff Jordan, CEO of OpenTable. If you’re interested in picking up OpenTable, you can find it for free in the Android Market. Popular Posts That You Might Enjoy!
